Three Checklists You Can Use Today
Download an editable plain-text checklist, open it in your preferred notes or document app and add your own details. No sign-up is needed. These are general planning prompts; follow your organisation’s procedures and approval requirements.
Project plan checklist
Start with one small work package. Use the prompts to connect scope, timing, people and the decisions needed before work starts.
View the checklist and example
- Project or work package and date
- Purpose, intended outcome and success checks
- Agreed scope, exclusions and key assumptions
- Activities, milestones, dependencies and target dates
- People, materials and information needed; availability to confirm
- Cost assumptions and the person authorised to approve commitments
- Main risks, quality checks and the owner of each response
- Progress reporting, escalation route and next review date
Example: For a fit-out work package, check that the approved layout, materials and required information will be ready before confirming the sequence. Record unresolved dependencies and who will follow them up.

Project change record checklist
Capture a proposed change before committing to it. Keep the request, impact review and authorised decision together.
View the checklist and example
- Change reference, date, requester and current status
- Requested change and reason
- Current agreed scope or plan affected
- Potential effects on scope, dates, cost, people, quality and risk
- Options, dependencies and information still needed
- People consulted and the person authorised to decide
- Decision, conditions, approval reference and date
- Records to update, people to inform and follow-up owner
Example: If a partition moves after the layout is agreed, record the potential effects on material orders, services, programme and handover. A request alone does not authorise the changed work.

Study and enquiry preparation checklist
Prepare a useful course conversation. You can leave anything unknown blank and ask WorkForward to clarify it.
View the checklist and example
- Current role and development goal
- Capability areas you want to strengthen
- Typical working week and realistic study blocks
- Computer, internet and digital access needs
- Project activities and evidence you may be permitted to access
- Trainer guidance or other support you would like to discuss
- Questions about proposed duration, weekly study expectations and commencement
- Current fees, payment arrangements, refunds and written course information to obtain
Example: Describe a typical roster and ask WBS to confirm the proposed schedule and assessment arrangements in writing. Access to workplace material does not automatically make it suitable assessment evidence.
